Originally from Montevideo, Uruguay, Leo studied architecture in New York, Los Angeles, Italy and Greece and received his Bachelor of Architecture from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.

He has worked for several firms in Los Angeles and Japan.

Previous employers include Frank Gehry Architects, Johnson-Fain Architects, Kajima Design and The Jerde Partnership.
He established LGstudio in 2003 where he is the principal architect and designer of projects ranging from residential to large scale, international mixed-use.
